Day 0 - Seattle Airport - Ravina and the Apple

For those of you outside the Gustavson School of Business following, I'm blogging on the travels for this thing we call the IIME (International Integrative Management Exercise) that happens every year during the foundation year of MBA. Students get to travel to either India or China (sometimes Brazil... not this time though... humph!) and conduct research, observe how business is carried out and a bunch of other academic jargon. The main thing is... WE GET TO GO TO ANOTHER COUNTRY FOR 2 WEEKS HALF WAY ACROSS THE WORLD!!!

We're the group that's heading to India and I'm calling today Day 0 which covers our travel time starting on a Saturday in Canada (Sunday in India) and our arrival in India on Monday (Sunday in Canada), rather than have any confusion on the sequence of days.

We're sitting at Seattle airport right now and the interesting thing with airports all over the world (especially when you're in a group) is airport security! You hope that everyone's able to go through without anything interesting happening (or maybe you do, depends on what you're looking for I guess) but there's always that one person who has an interesting encounter.

One from our crew was delayed (delayed.... not detained people, not every bad airport story ends in a cavity check!) for importing agricultural products without declaring them. That's fancy talk for "Why did you bring an apple with you? Don't you know we grow our own here?". It is Washington State after all!

We've also been lost in a shuttle (don't judge!) but it's a fantastic start to what will surely be a FUN TRIP! Right now its beers and fries somewhere on the main terminal... 16 odd hours to go till we reach our next stop (Dubai).
